Giving, THE PROPHET, Khalil Gibran

Giving

 THE PROPHET, by Khalil Gibran

Then said a rich man, "Speak to us of Giving."
And he answered:
You give but little when you give of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.
For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard for fear you may need them tomorrow?
And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the overprudent dog burying bones in the trackless sand as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city?
And what is fear of need but need itself?
Is not dread of thirst when your well is full, thirst that is unquenchable?
There are those who give little of the much which they have - and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome.
And there are those who have little and give it all.
These are the believers in life and the bounty of life, and their coffer is never empty.
There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward.
And there are those who give with pain, and that pain is their baptism.
And there are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virtue;
They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes its fragrance into space.
Though the hands of such as these God speaks, and from behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth.
It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked, through understanding;
And to the open-handed the search for one who shall receive is joy greater than giving
And is there aught you would withhold?
All you have shall some day be given;
Therefore give now, that the season of giving may be yours and not your inheritors'.
You often say, "I would give, but only to the deserving."
The trees in your orchard say not so, nor the flocks in your pasture.
They give that they may live, for to withhold is to perish.
Surely he who is worthy to receive his days and his nights is worthy of all else from you.
And he who has deserved to drink from the ocean of life deserves to fill his cup from your little stream.
And what desert greater shall there be than that which lies in the courage and the confidence, nay the charity, of receiving?
And who are you that men should rend their bosom and unveil their pride, that you may see their worth naked and their pride unabashed?
See first that you yourself deserve to be a giver, and an instrument of giving.
For in truth it is life that gives unto life - while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness.
And you receivers - and you are all receivers - assume no weight of gratitude, lest you lay a yoke upon yourself and upon him who gives.
Rather rise together with the giver on his gifts as on wings;
For to be overmindful of your debt, is to doubt his generosity who has the free-hearted earth for mother, and God for father.

At present, I am working with the voices of a Russian Yoga Practitioner, a French Artist/Entrepreneur, and a Thai Musician.

SOUND HEALING as well as CRYSTAL AND REIKI HEALING.
Been connecting with a lot of experiences in that realm in Thailand.
So much to tell you about me.
Manifesting
SCHOOL OF VOCAL HEALING
First in intent,
then in practice,
then in the physical world.
I use reiki and sound as well, when I work with others to open their own eternal voice.

I wrote a paper on the power of the human voice to heal,
based on my own field experiences~ Music Therapy at ASU, Pre- Thailand.

I have been blessed to explore, life as a voice teacher and singer, in over 9 countries. I have been collecting healing experiences of others, and my self as well, in my journal and soul. At present, I am working with the voices of a Russian yoga practitioner, a French artist/entrepreneur, and a Thai musician.

Off now to check my little garden, on the earth and in my soul.
I am truly ready now.
LoVE MuCh, Charla

Pic of Neil, my fab guitarist and soul brother from NZ, and my STARsoul sister, his wife, Isla.
What amazing experiences and connections we had together.
Crazy all nighters!
We will record together soon!

Change is like magnetic fuel for new creative ideas.

In less than two years, I sold most my worldly possessions in US, said goodbye to friends and family, moved to a country I had never seen before, bought a house on an island in Thailand, learned to ride a motor scooter, flew to Australia 2 times, 3 visits to Lao, 2 to Cambodia, 1 to the US, divorced, lost myself, found myself, created a new life for me, painted 5 murals, sang with a NZ guitarist, sang with a Thai Band, sang with a Thai guitarist, lost weight, gained, lost, gained (hahahahahha), losing again, became part of the social structure of a Cambodian family, learned to love the smell of Bangkok, learned to maneuver fluently through Bangkok, learned to travel through Asia with fearless confidence, learned to live in an open house in the jungle, learned to live without toilet paper, learned to like Thai whisky, had 7 dogs, one cat, survived 2 rainy seasons, learned to live off about 150 dollars a week, and finally learned to cook.

It is 1:56 am in Thailand.
Listening to the symphony of creatures around my little tree house and thinking how much I am going to miss it all when I am in the states.
Especially the purr of the male elephant that passes my house everyday across the river from me. His deep fluttering is usually followed up by a little high pitched trumpet from the baby elephant who is now 1 year and 3 months. She walks along with the rest as they carry their passengers of tourists through the jungle and over to the swimming hole. I suspect that they are having a chat like this "Daddy! We're almost there! Can I swim too this time!"
Very, very happy elephants with very happy, singing Burmese masters who guide them along.

Of course, then there are the bugs, the chickens, the geckos, and the dogs.
I will miss them too. Gonna have to make me some recordings to sleep too in the states, since I don't think that my mom will be too keen on me having chickens in the backyard to help me sleep.

I am however, extremely excited about the adventures I will have, when I return home.
I love to travel. I love change. Change is like magnetic fuel for new creative ideas.
I am ready. I am ready to hold all I love in the US in my arms again as well.
A nice glass of wine with great friends.
Singing the night away with fellow musicians.
Looking at life again on the other side through my new eyes.
Eyes that have seen much and a heart that has felt much.

Cambodia seems to have cast a big spell over me these past 8 months.
(boyfriend, friends, family, trips, and studying the Khmer Rouge)
So much, I realized I forgot to write in my blog.
Not sure if I can recapture all that has flowed in front of me and through me, but maybe as I am sitting in America, mosquito free, all boxed up in a house...
I might feel a bit like reminiscing the past almost 2 years here in Thailand.
It is all still whirling around and developing my consciousness in higher ways still.

I had just planted my garden and had begun my search of how to care for my own chickens, and talk them into laying eggs for me, when I decided to make the trip back home to the states to love on my parents, and my beautiful daughter, Elissa. (Elissa is almost finished with her university studies!!) They miss me, I miss them. Mom needs me. Dad too. I want to grow with them for a while. I just hope I don't go stir crazy without the jungle.
Time will tell.

Skye and I have been following the omens/ sign posts, we knew would signal that we were being beckoned to the states again. They all came within a two week period. We looked at each other and said, "ok, it's time. We can't ignore the signs any longer"

I am trying to rent my treehouse while I am gone. I hope an angel comes along who will live here and care for my dogs. Oh, they are so gonna miss Skye and I, and me them.
Oh well.....I'll be back sleeping under my mosquito net, in no time soon.
Time fly's quickly these days.

I am off to Australia first, however. Gotta get me a dose of Aussie to set my soul straight before I track off to America. I feel I have 3 homes, Thailand, Australia, and America.
One day I will add Nepal to that list;)

Channeling- Peace Be

Message from the Angels this morning....swimming in my head

till I woke up and wrote it down...then I could sleep...

Charla Esser July 17 at 10:45am

This is not a time for whinging nor complaining about the past, but a time of opening your heart, manifesting your truth, and just let it be. The UNiVERSE is supporting you in everyway to begin to see the world as it truely is. A space of creation and expansion.

Create, expand, and support all that is near you with compassionate love. Everything is you and you are everything. So with those eyes, love flows freely, compassion comes, the heart grows, the soul evolves, and you see.

Once you know, you can't dis-know.

Stand in the center of the wheel. The space of stillness.

You can observe everything from there with ease. No hurries, no worries, for you and creator are one, soooooo what do you want to create?Do you wish to have love around you???

Then radiate it. Love and Compassion. Cease judgement, release fear, close your eyes and see yourlife the way you have always dreamed. How would that look. Not who would that look like. How would that look. From 30,000 feet.

Do what you love, and love what you do.

Love yourself enough to stop doing that which does not bring you joy.

Slow down, sit in the center of the wheel. and see through the eyes of your eternal self whilst observing the eternal in others expressing self.

Forgive self, release self, love self.

LOve much, sing often, speak your truth (with compassionate love). It will never fail you.

In truth, lies the path of this soul expression.
Peace Be.

Birds Nest Village, Klong Plu River, Koh Chang, Thailand

Gonna "hobbit-ize" this house...in a fun, senual, zen kind of way.

I have come up with some great ideas on how to bring more nature in, gonna create a neat " doorway". Thanks to Michael Dunjey, and his enduring love for "His Little Hobbit", I have found inspirations for my ever-growing, stick and rock collections. ;)

My little treehouse, what would you name it?

I decided I would start a slide show blog, as well as video blog, about my life here in the little treehouse on Koh Chang. I was thinkin' though that this little treehouse must recieve a name, but I was hoping some of you could help me out. :)

Just goin' on the stories you might have heard from me in my posts, and without looking at a picture of it, now just hoooooolding the thought of "happy little me:)" and "happy little Skye:)" in it, what would you name it?
